My experience
I chose to train as a therapist after some significant shifts and changes in my own life. I have embraced these changes and remain open to continued growth, and a deepening understanding of myself and others through my work with clients.
I began as a volunteer counsellor for the Wiltshire Substance Misuse Service, working with clients in various stages of recovery from addiction. I have also volunteered for the Fertility Network which supports those affected by fertility issues, and for Swan Advocacy, advocating on behalf of patients with acute mental health issues who had been hospitalised or sectioned.
Some of my particular interests as a therapist are working with complex and acute trauma including PTSD and CPTSD, issues of identity and purpose, particularly around gender roles and life stage, the female body and transition, and the importance of creativity and imagination in the development of a sustaining inner life. With couples I am interested in how differentiation and individual growth is essential for sustaining the life force of a relationship.
In central Bath, I can work with you from the The Practice Rooms or The Abbey Practice. I also work with couples on a Thursday morning at Wood St Practice. If Frome is easier for you to reach, I can work with you from my home where I have a dedicated therapy room.
My fee is £60/50min session for individuals, £85/60min session for couples, though I do offer some low-cost spaces depending on individual circumstances. I am a member of UKCP, and adhere to the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). Please feel free to contact me for an initial chat, or drop me an email.
I offer psychotherapy in central Bath and Frome.
